With the release of CommentsWP v1.2, we’re introducing some powerful new features, smarter caching, and important compatibility updates. Let’s dive into what’s new!
Filter Dashboard Cards by Comment Type

Ever wanted to analyze specific types of comments? Now, you can! The Dashboard cards can now be filtered by Comments, Pingbacks, Trackbacks, and more. This makes it easier to focus on exactly the data you need.
We support any comment types that are present in your database. This also includes custom comments types like Reviews in WooCommerce.
Introducing the Commenters Profiles Page

We’ve added a brand-new Profiles page, which lists commenter authors along with:
- All known names they used on your site
- Their email address
- Their total number of comments
- Their first and last comment date
This feature is perfect for tracking active commenters and understanding audience engagement over time.
We have big plans for this feature and plan to extend it significantly over time.
Smarter Caching for Better Performance
Previously, CommentsWP used a fixed-time internal cache which was generated when you open the CommentsWP Dashboard page, stored the data for 5 minutes, and that’s it.
Now, the caching logic is much more intelligent – cache is automatically refreshed only when a new comment is posted, deleted, updated, or has its status changed. This ensures faster performance without unnecessary cache expiration delays.
That also means that every time you open the Dashboard page – you see up-to-date information in all the Cards that we have right now.
Bug Fixes & Performance Improvements
We cleaned up a bunch of code, fixed several issues, and prepared the code base for the next set of improvements and features. For example, we limited the places where our code is running, which should lead to improved performance.
As always, if you run into any issues or have feature suggestions, let us know here in the comments area!
You can read about all the changes in our Changelog.
Let us know what you think about the new features, and stay tuned for more updates! 🚀
